THERMOSTAT INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT THERMOSTAT

   
   

   1. Immerse the thermostat in water, and then gradually heat the water.

   2. Check the valve opening temperature of the thermostat.

      Standard Valve Opening Temperature
      100 °C (212 °F)

      If the valve opening temperature is not as specified, replace the thermostat.

   3. Check that the valve is fully closed when the thermostat is at a low temperature (below 88°C (190°F)).

      If not fully closed, replace the thermostat.
