When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    When replacing the steering lock actuator assembly, refer to the Service Bulletin.


    1. Secure the steering column assembly in a vise.

    2. Temporarily install the steering lock actuator assembly with new 2 tapered-head bolts.

      Note

      Be sure to use a new tapered-head bolt.

      Tighten the 2 tapered-heads bolt until the bolt heads breaks off.
