DESCRIPTION

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1207/65

Either condition is met:


  • A defective or sticking neutral position sensor (neutral position switch) signal.

  • A defective or sticking back-up light switch signal.


  • Back-up light switch

  • ECU-IG NO.2 fuse

  • Engine stop and start ECU circuit

  • Harness or connector

  • Electric parking brake ECU (Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly)

  • CAN communication system

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • Before performing work, turn the ignition switch off and wait approximately 20 seconds to make sure that the parking brake cannot operate.

  • When replacing the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Click here.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)


    1. Check for DTCs Click here.

  2. CHECK FOR STOP AND START SYSTEM


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for DTCs.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH - ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU/BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the R4 back-up light switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the I1 electric parking brake ECU connector.

    3. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      R4-2 (RB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R4-1 (RL) - I1-15 (RSW) Always Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH


    1. Remove the back-up light switch Click here.

    2. Inspect the back-up light switch Click here.

  5. RECONFIRM DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Drive the vehicle forward and in reverse.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.
