DESCRIPTION

The circuit is used to send electric parking brake system information from the electric parking brake ECU to the ECM, and engine control information from the ECM to the electric parking brake ECU.

One of the following conditions is met:


  • The stored variant coding parameters are not valid for this software version.

  • The data provided by CAN concerning variant coding parameters are not defined in ROM.

  • The data provided by CAN concerning variant coding parameters are different from non-volatile memory.

  • ECM

  • Main body ECU (Instrument panel junction block assembly)

  • Electric parking brake ECU (Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly)

Note


  • Before performing work, turn the ignition switch off and wait approximately 20 seconds to make sure that the parking brake cannot operate.

  • When replacing the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Click here.

  • If the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block assembly) is replaced, refer to the Service Bulletin.

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (instrument panel junction block assembly), first perform the inspections in On-Vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block assembly) before performing this troubleshooting procedure.*

  1. CHECK PART NUMBER (ECM)


    1. Check that the part number of the installed ECM is correct.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (HANDLE POSITION VARIANT)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Data List.

      Steering wheel location variant/

    6. Check if the steering wheel location displayed in the Data List matches the steering wheel location of the vehicle.

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)

  3. RECONFIRM DTC
