ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM FAIL-SAFE CHART


  1. FAIL-SAFE OPERATION


    1. Even if a failure occurs, if the electric parking brake is not mechanically stuck, the lock and release functions of the electric parking brake may still be available.

    2. When the release function is unavailable due to a failure, the apply function is prohibited.

    3. If the vehicle cannot move because the electric parking brake is applied and the release function is unavailable due to a failure, it is possible to release the electric parking brake using the emergency release cable if the electric parking brake is not mechanically stuck.

    4. If the electric parking brake is not available when the driver requests an operation with the electric parking brake switch, the PARK warning light blinks.

    5. for M/T:

      When the electric parking brake switch is malfunctioning, the ignition switch off automatic apply function (Auto mode) turns on. The electric parking brake can be released by the drive away release function.
