LIGHTING SYSTEM Hazard Warning Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly receives a hazard warning signal switch information signal, and illuminates the turn signal lights.

Note

When replacing the combination meter assembly, make sure to replace it with a new one.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (HAZARD FLASHER SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body or Chassis / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

      Hazard Flasher Switch Hazard warning signal switch assembly / OFF or ON

      OFF: Hazard warning signal switch assembly off

      ON: Hazard warning signal switch assembly on

  2. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the hazard warning signal switch assembly Click here.

    REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY Click here

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the D61 hazard warning signal switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the D140 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D140-3 (HAZ) - D61-4 (TB) Always Below 1 Ω
      D61-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D61-4 (TB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
