DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling motor operates by receiving the signal from the headlight swivel ECU assembly. The headlight swivel ECU assembly detects the headlight leveling motor status using the signal from headlight leveling motor.

  • A malfunction in the headlight leveling motor RH.

  • An open or short in the headlight leveling motor RH communication circuit.

Tech Tips


  • Perform a visual check of the headlight (headlight swivel motor) before replacing it.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • After replacing the headlight swivel ECU assembly, initialization of the ECU is necessary Click here.

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2424 or B2425 output does not occur.

    OK

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Click here

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / AFS / Data List.

    5. Using the GTS, read the Data List.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

      Disconnect the headlight swivel ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A38 headlight swivel ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A65*1 or A64*2 headlight assembly connector.


      • *1: for LH

      • *2: for RH

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
