METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Fuel Receiver Gauge Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The fuel sender gauge assembly has a variable resistance mechanism. The resistance decreases when the fuel amount increases, and the resistance increases when the fuel amount decreases. The fuel receiver gauge changes based on the resistance of the fuel sender gauge assembly.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the D66 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G24 fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D66-16 (L) - G24-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω
      D66-15 (E) - G24-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω
      D66-21 (ET) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
D66-16 (L) or G24-2 (FS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
D66-15 (E) or G24-3 (FE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
