DESCRIPTION

C13A7/43

One of the following conditions is met:


  • A motor operation has not been finished within a specified time limit.

  • The spindle displacement has exceeded the maximum specified range.

  • One or both actuator cables are no longer attached to the caliper.

  • The motor operates in the opposite direction of the electric parking brake operation request.

  • The motor is stuck.


  • Harness or connector

  • Parking brake cable

  • Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • Before performing work, turn the ignition switch off and wait approximately 20 seconds to make sure that the parking brake cannot operate.

  • When replacing the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Click here.

  • If the rear disc brake is stuck, DTC C13A7/43 may be stored. If DTC C13A7/43 is output, check the rear disc brake for malfunctions. If there is a malfunction, perform troubleshooting according to the Problem Symptoms Table for the Brake System Click here. After the problem is resolved, check if DTC C13A7/43 is output again before proceeding with troubleshooting.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Inspect the condition of the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector terminals.

      OK
      Connector and terminals are not deformed or damaged. Terminals are not loose or corroded.

  2. CHECK PARKING BRAKE CABLE


    1. Check that the parking brake cable is securely installed Click here.

  3. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Operate the electric parking brake switch.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.
