DESCRIPTION

for M/T:

The brake pedal stroke sensor (clutch pedal stroke sensor) inputs the clutch pedal stroke into the electric parking brake ECU.

Either condition is met:


  • The brake pedal stroke sensor (clutch pedal stroke sensor) signal exceeds the upper or lower failure threshold.

  • A defective brake pedal stroke sensor (clutch pedal stroke sensor) signal.


  • Brake pedal stroke sensor (Clutch pedal stroke sensor)

  • Harness or connector

  • Electric parking brake ECU (Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly)

Note


  • Before performing work, turn the ignition switch off and wait approximately 20 seconds to make sure that the parking brake cannot operate.

  • When replacing the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly or brake pedal stroke sensor (clutch pedal stroke sensor), perform zero point calibration Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU - BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR (CLUTCH PEDAL STROKE SENSOR))


    1. Disconnect the electric parking brake ECU connector.

      *3 for LHD
      *4 for RHD

      Disconnect the brake pedal stroke sensor (clutch pedal stroke sensor) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      I1-2 (SKS2) - Body ground Always 100 kΩ or higher

      I1-4 (SKS) - A4-2 (SKS1) Always Below 1 Ω
      I1-4 (SKS) - Body ground Always 100 kΩ or higher
      I1-5 (VCSK) - A4-3 (VCSK) Always Below 1 Ω
      I1-5 (VCSK) - Body ground Always 100 kΩ or higher

      Disconnect the brake pedal stroke sensor (clutch pedal stroke sensor) connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
