VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3 causes the ECU to display DTCs by blinking the ABS warning and slip indicator lights.

Tech Tips

When the indicator lights continue to blink, a ground short in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in one or more ECUs is suspected.

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output Click here.

  2. INSPECT DLC3

      Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D8-13 (TC) - D8-4 (CG) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  3. REPLACE ECM

      Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Replace the ECM (See page for 1ZR-FAE, for 2ZR-FAE, for 3ZR-FAE or Click here for 3ZR-FE).

    3. Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.

    4. Check that the ABS warning and slip indicator lights are blinking.

      OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TC of DLC3 - ECM)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the A40 (for 3ZR-FE) or A67 (for 1ZR-FAE, 2ZR-FAE or 3ZR-FAE) ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (for 3ZR-FE)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D8-13 (TC) - A40-41 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      D8-13 (TC) or A40-41 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Standard Resistance (for 1ZR-FAE, 2ZR-FAE or 3ZR-FAE)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D8-13 (TC) - A67-33 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      D8-13 (TC) or A67-33 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
