REAR SHOCK ABSORBER REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH (for Sedan)


    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim cover assembly LH Click here.

  2. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for Wagon)


    1. Remove the deck trim side panel assembly LH Click here.

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  4. REMOVE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Support the rear No. 2 suspension arm with a jack using a wooden block to avoid damage.

      Note

      Do not excessively jack up the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Support the rear shock absorber at a position where it compresses by approximately 20 to 30 mm (0.787 to 1.181 in.).

      Remove the nut and rear stabilizer cushion.

      Remove the nut, rear stabilizer link and rear stabilizer cushion.

      Tech Tips

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud.

  6. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CUSHION RETAINER LH

    1. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, secure the rear shock absorber rod and remove the lock nut.

      Remove the rear shock absorber cushion retainer.

  7. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the rear suspension support.

  8. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the bolt while holding the nut and remove the rear shock absorber.

  9. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SPRING BUMPER LH
