Initial check
The initial check occurs when the ignition switch is off for more than 2 seconds, and then turned ON. The initial check consists of a pre-crash safety system diagnostic check with a duration of approximately 5 seconds.
If the initial check discovers a malfunction, "CHECK PRE-CRASH SAFETY."*1 or "Check Pre-Crash Safety."*2 is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly approximately 5 seconds after the initial check is complete and the PCS warning light blinks.
Constant check
The pre-crash safety city sensor constantly monitors the pre-crash safety system for malfunctions after the ignition switch is turned to ON and the initial check (approximately 5 seconds) has completed.
"CHECK PRE-CRASH SAFETY."*1 or "Check Pre-Crash Safety."*2 is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly when the constant check detects malfunctions in the pre-crash safety system.
