RADIATOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FAN SHROUD

   
   

   1. 

      Install the fan shroud to the radiator with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:

      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

2. INSTALL NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

   
   
   1. 

      *1	Top
      *2	Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks as shown in the illustration and install the No. 3 water by-pass hose to the radiator.

      Tech Tips

      The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.

3. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

   

   
   

   1. Install the 2 lower radiator supports.

   2. Install the radiator together with the fan shroud.

   3. 

      Connect the cooling fan ECU connector and wire harness clamp.

4. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

   
   
   1. 

      *1	Top
      *2	Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks as shown in the illustration and connect the No. 2 radiator hose to the radiator with the clamp.

      Tech Tips

      The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.

5. CONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE

   
   
   1. 

      *1	Top
      *2	Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks as shown in the illustration and connect the No. 3 radiator hose to the radiator with the clamp.

      Tech Tips

      The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.

6. CONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

   
   
   1. 

      *1	Top
      *2	Rear
      *3	Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks as shown in the illustration and connect the No. 3 water by-pass hose to the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

      Tech Tips

      The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.

7. CONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

   
   
   1. 

      *1	Top
      *2	Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks as shown in the illustration and connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose to the radiator with the clamp.

      Tech Tips

      The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.

8. INSTALL AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

9. INSTALL CONDENSER ASSEMBLY WITH RECEIVER (w/ Air Conditioning System)

10. CONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)

    Click here

11. CONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)

12. INSTALL NO. 2 FAN SHROUD

    
    

    1. 

       Attach the 2 claws and install the No. 2 fan shroud to the radiator with the 2 bolts.

       Torque:

       7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

    2. 

       Attach the No. 3 water by-pass hose clamp.

13. INSTALL FAN SHROUD CUSHION

    
    

    1. 

       Install the 2 cushions.

14. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

    
    

    1. 

       Install the upper radiator support with the 5 bolts.

       Torque:

       13 N*m  { 127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    2. Attach the 2 clamps to connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

    3. Connect the 2 horn connectors.

15. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

17. INSTALL BATTERY

18. INSTALL BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

19. CONNECT NO. 1 WATER HOSE CLAMP BRACKET

    

    
    

    1. Connect the hose clamp bracket with the 2 bolts.

       Torque:

       5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

20. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

21. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

22. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

23. CHARGE REFRIGERANT (w/ Air Conditioning System)

    Click here

24. WARM UP ENGINE (w/ Air Conditioning System)

    Click here

25. CHECK FOR REFRIGERANT GAS LEAK (w/ Air Conditioning System)

26. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

27. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ABSORBER LOWER

28. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

29. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

30. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

    
    

    1. 

       Install the radiator support opening cover with the 7 clips.
