SPEED LIMITER SYSTEM PRECAUTION


  1. IGNITION SWITCH EXPRESSION

    The type of ignition switch used on this model differs according to the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this section.

  2. HANDLING PRECAUTION FOR SPEED LIMITER SYSTEM


    1. Turn the speed limiter main switch off when not using the speed limiter system.

    2. Beware of a possible increase in vehicle speed when driving downhill.

      Tech Tips

      If the vehicle speed increase excessively, shift down to decelerate with the engine brake.

    3. After canceling the speed limiter control, speed limiter control is resumed by operating RES/+ switch. Under speed limiter control, limit speed is increased by operating RES/+ switch.

    4. If the speed limiter indicator light illuminates yellow*1 or "CHECK SPEED LIMITER SYSTEM"*2 is displayed while the speed limiter control is on, first turn the speed limiter control off, and then turn the speed limiter control back on. If the speed limiter indicator light continues to flash after performing the above, there may be a malfunction in the system. Although this does not affect normal driving, have the vehicle inspected.

    5. Do not use the speed limiter system where the road conditions are as follows:


      • Steep downhill

      • Roads with sharp turns

      • Icy or snowy roads

      • Slippery roads

    6. Do not use the speed limiter system when the vehicle is towing a trailer, etc.
