    INSPECT CAMSHAFT


    1. Inspect the circle runout.


      1. Place the camshaft on V-blocks.

      2. Using a dial indicator, measure the circle runout at the center journal.

        Maximum circle runout
        0.10 mm (0.00394 in.)

        If the circle runout is more than the maximum, replace the camshaft.

    2. Using a micrometer, measure the cam lobe height.

      Standard Cam Lobe Height
      Cam Lobe Specified Condition
      Intake 54.890 to 54.910 mm (2.1610 to 2.1618 in.)
      Exhaust 54.990 to 55.010 mm (2.1650 to 2.1657 in.)
      Minimum Cam Lobe Height
      cam Lobe Specified Condition
      Intake 54.39 mm (2.141 in.)
      Exhaust 54.49 mm (2.145 in.)

      If the cam lobe height is less than the minimum, replace the camshaft.

    INSPECT INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. Using a precision straightedge and feeler gauge, measure the surface that contact the cylinder head for warpage.

      Maximum warpage
      0.40 mm (0.0157 in.)

      If the warpage is more than the maximum, replace the intake manifold.

    INSPECT EXHAUST MANIFOLD


    1. Using a precision straightedge and feeler gauge, measure the surface that contact the cylinder head for warpage.

      Maximum warpage
      0.40 mm (0.0157 in.)

      If the warpage is more than the maximum, replace the exhaust manifold.

  4. Click here

    INSPECT CYLINDER HEAD SET BOLT


    1. A01DMSEE05

      Using a vernier caliper, measure the minimum outer diameter of the elongated thread at the measuring point.

      Standard outer diameter
      11.80 to 12.00 mm (0.465 to 0.472 in.)
      Minimum outer diameter
      11.60 mm (0.457 in.)

      If the diameter is less than the minimum, replace the cylinder head set bolt.
