DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the power switch illumination.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • Before performing the following inspection, check that the power switch illumination has not been turned off using the rheostat function.

  • The power switch illumination can be turned off by using the rheostat knob to select the minimum illuminance level with the taillights on.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM


    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the Techstream on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Active Test.

    5. Check that the illumination operates.

      When performing this Active Test, make sure the following condition is met:

      The power switch illumination is off (15 seconds or more have elapsed since it turned from on to off) and the power switch is on (ACC) or on (IG), or the hybrid control system is running.

      Power switch illumination comes on.

  2. INSPECT POWER SWITCH


    1. Remove the power switch Click here.

    2. Inspect the power switch Click here.

      OK
      Power switch illumination comes on.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the I86 and I87 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the I58 power switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I58-9 (SWIL) - I87-6 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I58-6 (AGND) - I86-6 (AGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      I58-9 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I58-6 (AGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
