PARKING BRAKE PEDAL REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    Tech Tips

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER


    1. A01HUM2

      Disengage the claw to remove the luggage trim service hole cover.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER SUPPORT

    Click here

  5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    4. Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the DLC3.

    5. A01HSO5

      Disengage the 2 hooks to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Note

      When removing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, do not pull the airbag wire harness.

      *2 Airbag Connector
      *3 Airbag Connector Lock

      Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock.

    7. Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA ASSEMBLY


    1. A01HULM

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the bolt.

    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 indoor electrical key antenna assembly.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the indoor electrical key antenna assembly. If the antenna is dropped, replace it with a new one.

  7. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH


    1. A01HUF5

      Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the floor carpet bracket RH.

  8. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Turn back the carpet.

      Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    5. Remove the 3 bolts and airbag sensor assembly.

  9. REMOVE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU

      Disconnect the 4 connectors.

    2. A01HUUK

      Remove the 2 nuts and power management control ECU.

  10. LOOSEN ADJUSTING NUT

      Remove the lock nut and loosen the adjusting nut.

      Note

      If the lock nut is removed or loosened, replace the lock nut with a new one.

  11. SEPARATE NO. 4 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Separate the No. 4 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake control pedal assembly as shown in the illustration.

  12. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn back the floor carpet.

    2. A01HSOY

      Remove the clip from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

      Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    5. A01HTAQ

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly.
