FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY

      *1 Vent Hole Connector Lock
      *2 Vent Hole Connector

      Connect the vent hole connector of the instrument panel wire to the front passenger airbag assembly.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    2. Push in the vent hole connector lock to install the vent hole connector.

      Connect the 2 airbag connectors of the instrument panel wire to the front passenger airbag assembly.

      Note


      • When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      • Be sure to only connect the connectors to each corresponding color.

    4. Push in the 2 airbag connector locks to install the 2 airbag connectors.

    5. Engage the 2 clamps.

  2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 5 hooks.

    2. Push in the front passenger airbag assembly to engage the 5 hooks.

    3. Install the 2 screws to install the front passenger airbag assembly.

  3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 4 claws and guide, and temporarily install the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A> or <B>.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    3. Install the instrument panel safety pad assembly with the 2 bolts <C> and nut <G> or <H>.

    4. Install the bolt <D>.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    5. Connect the connectors.

  4. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Connect the 2 connectors.

      Note

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
