FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

  2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  3. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Slide the 2 sliders to release the 2 locks, and then disconnect the 2 connectors.

      Note

      When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the bolt <D>.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts <C> and nut <G> or <H>.

    4. Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A> or <B>.

    5. Disengage the 4 claws and guide, and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

  5. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the front passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. A01EMP7

      Lean the instrument panel to disengage the 5 hooks.

    3. A01EMJW

      Disengage the 5 hooks to remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY

      *2 Airbag Connector Lock
      *3 Airbag Connector

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the 2 airbag connector locks.

    3. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the vent hole connector lock.

    5. Disconnect the vent hole connector to remove the instrument panel wire from the front passenger airbag assembly.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
