KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Connect the driver side knee airbag connector to the driver side knee airbag assembly.

      Note

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Connect the DLC3 to the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 2 claws.

    5. A01EJTC

      Temporarily install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 2 hooks.

    6. Install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL


    1. A01EJS4

      Connect the hood lock control cable.

    2. A01EITG

      Connect the aspirator duct and connector.

    3. A01EKDA

      Connect the connectors.

    4. Engage the claw and 9 clips.

    5. Install the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel with the bolt <C> and screw <E> or <F>.

  3. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01EJEA

      Engage the 2 clips to install the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.

    2. Install the clip.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


    1. A01ELE9

      Engage the guide, 3 clips and the 7 claws to install the front door scuff plate LH.

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  6. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK


    1. Perform a diagnostic system check Click here.

  7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT


    1. Inspect the SRS warning light Click here.
