DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (driver side junction block assembly) controls operation of the DOME CUT relay in order to supply power to the interior lights.

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT DOME CUT RELAY


    1. Remove the DOME CUT relay.

      Component without harness connected

      (DOME CUT Relay)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 When battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω
      3 - 5 When battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher

    NG

    REPLACE DOME CUT RELAY

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the 2C main body ECU (driver side junction block assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2C-27 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOME CUT RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the 2R main body ECU (driver side junction block assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay Terminal 5 - 2R-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay Terminal 2 - 2R-7 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay Terminal 5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Relay Terminal 2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Relay Terminal 1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Install the DOME CUT relay.

    2. Reconnect the 2C main body ECU (driver side junction block assembly) connector.

      Reconnect the 2R main body ECU (driver side junction block assembly) connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2R-6 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      2R-7 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
