INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Precaution for Navigation System Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (AMPLIFIER MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the E40 navigation receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the P12 inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E40-4 (MACC) - P12-9 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      E40-5 (MIN+) - P12-11 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E40-19 (MIN-) - P12-12 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E40-6 (SNS2) - P12-10 (SGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      E40-4 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E40-5 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E40-19 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E40-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E40-6 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the E40 navigation receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the P12 inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly) connector.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      E40-4 (MACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 4 to 6 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E40-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      E40-19 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (AMPLIFIER MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Remove the inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly).

  4. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (AMPLIFIER MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Reconnect the E40 navigation receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the P12 inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly) connector.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.

      (Inner Rear View Mirror Assembly (Amplifier Microphone Assembly))

      Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 11 (MIC+) and 12 (MIC-) of the P12 inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly) connector.

    5. Check the waveform of the inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly) using the oscilloscope.
