  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the E4 and E5 radio and display receiver assembly connectors.

    2. Disconnect the H1 and I1 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the E28 and E29 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    4. Disconnect the J4 and K4 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    5. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies and the radio and display receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E4-1 (FR+) - E28-2 (TWR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E4-5 (FR-) - E28-4 (TWR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E4-2 (FL+) - E29-2 (TWL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E4-6 (FL-) - E29-4 (TWL-) Always Below 1 Ω
    6. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the front No. 2 speaker assemblies to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      H1-1 - E28-1 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H1-2 - E28-3 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I1-1 - E29-1 (+) Always Below 1 Ω

    7. Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the radio and display receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      E5-1 (RR+) - J4-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      E5-3 (RR-) - J4-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      E5-2 (RL+) - K4-1 Always Below 1 Ω

    8. Measure the resistance between the radio and display receiver assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

      E4-5 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Tech Tips


      • Connect all the connectors to the front No. 2 speaker assemblies that were disconnected.

      • When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.

      • Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the E12 and E15 stereo component amplifier assembly connectors.

    2. Disconnect the E23 and E24 front No. 3 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the E25 and E26 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    4. Disconnect the H1 and I1 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

    5. Disconnect the E27 front No. 4 speaker assembly connector.

    6. Disconnect the J4 and K4 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    7. Disconnect the J5 and K5 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    8. Disconnect the M17 and L11 rear No. 3 speaker assembly connectors.

    9. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    12. Measure the resistance between the front No. 4 speaker assembly and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    13. Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    14. Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 2 speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
