REAR SPEED SENSOR (for AWD) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  • If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear drive shaft assembly.


  1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR


    1. A01ELYI

      Install the rear speed sensor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • Keep the rear speed sensor tip and sensor installation hole free from foreign matter.

      *2 No. 1 Clamp

      Install the No. 1 clamp and No. 2 clamp with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not twist the rear speed sensor wire when installing the clamps.

    3. Insert the connector and grommet to the inside of the vehicle through the passage hole in the wheel well.

      Note

      Make sure that the grommet's band clamp remains on the outside of the vehicle.

    4. Hold the grommet and pull it from the inside to the outside of the vehicle. Then secure it in place so that it is not tilted.

      Note

      When pulling out the grommet, do not grip the sensor wire.

      Connect the rear speed sensor connector.

  2. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 7 claws and the 5 clips.

    3. Install the deck trim side panel assembly LH with the bolt and clip.

  3. CONNECT REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

      Connect the floor anchor end of the rear seat outer belt assembly and install the bolt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the rear seat outer belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the floor panel.

  4. INSTALL LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EJ2H

      Engage the 2 guides.

    2. Install the 2 luggage hold belt striker assemblies with the 2 bolts.

  5. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL BEZEL LH


    1. A01EKL1

      Engage the 3 claws to install the reclining remote control bezel LH.

  6. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE


    1. A01EJJN

      Engage the 4 clips and 2 claws to install the rear floor finish plate.

  7. INSTALL REAR SEAT SUB FLOOR PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ELM5

      Engage the 2 guides, 2 claws and 5 clips to install the rear seat sub floor panel assembly.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 DECK BOARD


    1. A01EK32

      Engage the 6 clips to install the No. 1 deck board.

  9. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH


    1. A01EIQE

      Install the deck side trim box RH with the 4 clips.

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EMLZ

      Engage the 2 guides to install the No. 2 deck board sub-assembly.

  11. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH


    1. A01ELW2

      Install the deck side trim box LH with the 3 clips.

  12. INSTALL NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EINV

      Engage the 2 guides to install the No. 3 deck board sub-assembly.

  13. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EL2J

      Engage the 2 guides to install the deck board assembly.

  14. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the tonneau cover assembly.

  15. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

      *1 Alignment mark (Purple)

      Align the alignment mark (Purple) on the weatherstrip with the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

      Note

      After installation, check that the corners fit correctly.

  16. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


    1. A01EMQ6

      Engage the 2 clips and 6 claws to install the rear door scuff plate LH.

  17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
