REAR AXLE HUB (for 2WD) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE

      Remove the bolt and separate the rear flexible hose from the rear shock absorber with coil spring.

  3. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EM42

      Remove the 2 bolts and rear disc brake caliper assembly.

      Note


      • Do not disconnect the rear brake flexible hose from the rear disc brake caliper assembly.

      • Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the rear disc brake caliper assembly from hanging down by the rear brake flexible hose.

  4. REMOVE REAR DISC

      Put matchmarks on the rear disc and rear axle hub.

      Tech Tips

      The above step is not necessary when the rear disc will be replaced.

    2. A01EL4A

      Release the parking brake and remove the rear disc.

      Tech Tips

      If the rear disc cannot be removed easily, insert a screwdriver through the service hole to loosen the parking brake shoes by turning the adjusting screw.

  5. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE


    1. A01EKAV

      Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the rear speed sensor.

  6. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EJOH

      Remove the 4 bolts and the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

      Note

      Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the parking brake assembly from hanging down by the parking brake cable assembly.
