VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL

      *1 Shift Solenoid Valve SL

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection

      Specified Condition

      20°C (68°F)

      Solenoid Connector (SL) - Solenoid Body (SL) 11 to 15 Ω

      If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the shift solenoid valve.

      OK
      The solenoid makes an operating noise.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

  2. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT

      Component without harness connected

      (Shift Solenoid Valve SLT)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection

      Specified Condition

      20°C (68°F)

      1 - 2 5.0 to 5.6 Ω

      If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the shift solenoid valve.

      OK
      The solenoid makes an operating noise.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

  3. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU

      (Shift Solenoid Valve SLU)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection

      Specified Condition

      20°C (68°F)

      1 - 2 5.0 to 5.6 Ω

      If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the shift solenoid valve.

      OK
      The solenoid makes an operating noise.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL1

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection

      Specified Condition

      If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the shift solenoid valve.

      OK
      The solenoid makes an operating noise.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

  5. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL2

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection

      Specified Condition

      20°C (68°F)

      If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the shift solenoid valve.

      OK
      The solenoid makes an operating noise.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

  6. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL3

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Specified Condition

    2. Connect a positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb from the battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the shift solenoid valve.

      The solenoid makes an operating noise.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

  7. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL4
