INSPECT FRONT OIL PUMP AND GEAR BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY
Turn the drive gear with 2 screwdrivers and make sure that it rotates smoothly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the oil seal lip.
REMOVE STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Using a "TORX" wrench (T30), remove the 16 bolts and stator shaft assembly from the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
Note
Keep the gears in the order of installation.
INSPECT CLEARANCE OF FRONT OIL PUMP AND GEAR BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY
Push the driven gear to one side of the body.
Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance.

If the clearance is greater than the maximum, replace the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
Using a straight edge and feeler gauge, measure the side clearance of both gears.

REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP BODY O-RING
Remove the front pump body O-ring from the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR
Remove the front oil pump drive gear from the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVEN GEAR
Remove the front oil pump driven gear from the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP OIL SEAL
Mount the front oil pump body sub-assembly in a soft jaw vise.
Using SST, remove the front oil pump oil seal from the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
