If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the cruise control operation.

Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Re-operation Condition
CRUISE main indicator light blinks
  • There is an open or short in the stop light switch assembly circuit

  • There is a problem with the vehicle speed signal

Turn cruise control main switch on again
CRUISE main indicator light blinks
  • There is a problem with the input circuit of the stop light switch assembly

  • There is a problem with the cancel circuit


  • Turn ignition switch off then on again

  • Turn cruise control main switch on again

CRUISE main indicator light goes off There is a problem with the throttle position sensor and motor (throttle with motor body assembly) Turn cruise control main switch on again
CRUISE main indicator light remains on

Under the following conditions, the stored vehicle speed is maintained:


  • Vehicle speed is lower than the low speed limit (approximately 40 km/h (25 mph)) while the vehicle is driven with the cruise control on

  • VSC system operates

Push cruise control main switch to + RES
Vehicle speed is lower than the stored speed by approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) or more Push cruise control main switch to - SET
