FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EKPOE01

      *1 O-ring

      Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to a new O-ring.

    2. Install the O-ring to the fuel pressure pulsation damper assembly.

    3. Install the fuel pressure pulsation damper assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or jammed when installing the damper.

  2. INSTALL FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    *1 No. 2 Fuel Pipe Clamp
    *2 Fuel Hose Clamp

    1. Connect the fuel tube.

    2. Push the fuel tube connector until it makes a "click" sound.

    3. Install a new No. 2 fuel pipe clamp.

      Push the tube connector into the pipe until the tube connector makes a "click" sound.

      Note


      • Before connecting the connector and fuel pipe, check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the connecting part of the fuel pipe.

      • After connecting the fuel tube connector and fuel pipe, check that they are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.

    5. Install the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp.

    6. Install the fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel hose clamp.

  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EKRC

      Connect the air-cleaner cap sub-assembly to the throttle body assembly and lock the hose band.

    2. A01EJ98

      Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
    3. A01EKWW

      Connect the ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover.

    4. A01EKFY

      Connect the mass air flow meter connector and install the wire harness clamp to the air cleaner cap.

    5. Install the hose to the hose clamp.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EJEL

      Install the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly.

    2. A01EM1H

      Connect the connector and 2 fuel vapor feed hoses.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EK9G

      Fit the 3 retainers and install the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

  6. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL

      Install the outer cowl top panel with the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      Nut
      85 N*m  { 866 kgf*cm, 63 ft.*lbf }
      Bolt
      8.8 N*m  { 90 kgf*cm, 78 in.*lbf }
    2. A01EIQY

      Engage the 2 wire harness clamps to the outer cowl top panel.

    3. A01EKSW

      Engage the 2 wire harness clamps to the outer cowl top panel and connect the connector (w/ Windshield Deicer).

  7. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly Click here.

  8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  9. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK


    1. Check fuel pump operation.


      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

        Note

        Do not start the engine.

      3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.

      4. Check for pressure in the fuel inlet tube from the fuel line. Check that the sound of fuel flowing from the fuel tank can be heard. If no sound can be heard, check the integration relay, fuel pump, ECM and wiring connectors.

    2. Inspect for fuel leaks.


      1. Check that there are no fuel leaks from the fuel system after doing any maintenance or repairs. If there is a fuel leak, repair or replace parts as necessary.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

    4. Disconnect the GTS from the DLC3.
