| P2614 | Camshaft Position Signal Output Circuit / Open |
DESCRIPTION
Refer to DTC P0010 (see pageClick here).
| DTC No. | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
|---|---|---|
| P1023 | Malfunction in rotation sensor of camshaft timing control motor is detected for 3 seconds (1 trip detection logic) |
Camshaft timing control motor (bank 2) |
| P2614 | Malfunction in rotation sensor of camshaft timing control motor is detected for 3 seconds (1 trip detection logic) |
Camshaft timing control motor (bank 1) |
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
This DTC is output when a malfunction in the intake side camshaft timing control motor's rotation sensor is detected. The camshaft timing control motor is equipped with a self diagnostic function, which is used to send diagnostic signals (VTM) to the ECM. If the ECM receives a rotation sensor malfunction signal, a DTC is output immediately (1 trip detection logic).
If the engine is idled for 10 seconds, a DTC is detected.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine conditions when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR (BANK 1 OR BANK 2)
Replace the camshaft timing control motor (see pageClick here).
CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the tester ON.
Clear the DTCs (see pageClick here).
Start the engine and allow the engine idle for 10 seconds or more.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / DTC.
Read DTCs.
