REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING (for Standard Body) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH


    1. A01GYVW

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  2. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL

    1. Apply protective tape to the area around the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips in the order shown in the illustration.

    3. A01GXAJ

      Disconnect the connector.

    4. Remove the screw and illumination light.

    5. Remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Rear Door Sunshade)


    1. A01GWSK

      for Long Body:


      1. Remove the 3 screws.

      2. Detach the 13 clips.

        Note

        Do not use a tool to detach the clips of the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      3. A01GZ7Y

        Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

      4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the trim board.

    2. A01H1GM

      for Standard Body:


      1. Remove the 3 screws.

      2. Detach the 11 clips.

        Note

        Do not use a tool to detach the clips of the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      3. A01GZ7Y

        Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

      4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the trim board.

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)


    1. A01H024

      for Long Body:


      1. Remove the 3 screws.

      2. Detach the 14 clips.

        Note

        Do not use a tool to detach the clips of the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      3. A01GZ7Y

        Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

      4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

    2. A01GYMJ

      for Standard Body:


      1. Remove the 3 screws.

      2. Detach the 12 clips.

        Note

        Do not use a tool to detach the clips of the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

      3. A01GZ7Y

        Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

      4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM COVER LH


    1. A01GYTL

      Remove the cushion.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 5 clips and remove the rear door trim cover LH.

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

      w/o Rear Door Sunshade:


      1. Remove the screw and detach the clip.

      2. Detach the claws and remove the rear door frame garnish LH.

    2. A01GWM7

      w/ Rear Door Sunshade:


      1. Detach the 2 clips.

      2. Detach the claws and remove the rear door frame garnish LH.

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 3 WEATHERSTRIP LH

      *1 Double-sided Tape

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear door No. 3 weatherstrip LH.

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Detach the clip and remove the rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH.

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW UPPER FRAME MOULDING LH


    1. Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

    2. Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill, as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    3. Lightly press the drill against each of the 6 rear door window frame moulding rivets labeled (A) and (B) shown in the illustration, and drill off each rivet's flange.

      Tech Tips


      • The rivets labeled (A) are the installation rivets of the rear door window frame moulding.

      • The rivets labeled (B) are the installation rivets for both the rear door window frame moulding and rear door belt moulding.

      Note


      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.

      • Do not pry the rivets with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivets or the drill bit.

      • Be careful of the drilled rivets as they may become hot.

    4. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.

    5. Detach the clip and remove the window frame moulding.
