REAR BUMPER REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE UPPER REAR BUMPER COVER LH

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the upper rear bumper cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  2. REMOVE UPPER REAR BUMPER COVER RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  3. REMOVE CENTER REAR BUMPER PLATE (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)

    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the rear bumper center plate.

  4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER

    1. Remove the screw, and then remove the rear bumper seal bracket.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for both screws and rear bumper seal brackets.

    2. Remove the 2 screws.

    3. Put protective tape around the rear bumper cover.

    4. Using a clip remover, remove the 6 clips.

      Remove the 2 screws.

    6. Detach the 14 claws and 4 guides.

    7. Disconnect the No. 3 luggage room wire connector.

    8. Remove the rear bumper cover.

  5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

    1. Remove the rear bumper energy absorber.

  6. REMOVE REAR BUMPER NO. 1 REINFORCEMENT

    1. Remove the 8 bolts and rear bumper No. 1 reinforcement.

  7. REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER

    1. Detach the 2 fasteners and guides and remove the luggage trim service hole cover.

  8. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Put protective tape around the rear combination light assembly LH.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Remove the 3 nuts.

    4. Move the rear combination light assembly LH in the direction of the arrow in the illustration, detach the clip, 2 claws and 2 guides to remove the rear combination light assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      The clips remain on the vehicle body.

  9. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

  10. REMOVE REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH

    1. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the rear bumper upper retainer.

  11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH

  12. REMOVE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR

  13. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER SIDE RETAINER LH

    1. Using a screwdriver, turn the clip 90° and remove the clip.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the claw and remove the rear bumper lower side retainer LH.

  14. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH

    1. Using a screwdriver, turn the 5 clips 90° and remove the 5 clips.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the clip and claw and remove the rear bumper side support.

  16. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

    1. Remove the 4 screws and grommet.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 4 claws and remove the rear bumper lower retainer LH.
