FRONT DOOR REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

  4. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)


    1. A01GXQQ

      Detach the 2 clips and remove the deck trim side board LH.

  5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Detach the clip, fastening tape and remove the battery service hole cover LH.

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the front door inside handle bezel plug LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  8. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL


    1. A01GWMP

      Using a moulding remover D, detach the 2 clips.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01GYVZ

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Detach the 13 clips and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly LH.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

    4. A01GWSZ

      Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01GYUE

      Detach the claw, disconnect the connector and then remove the front door inside handle illumination light assembly LH.

  11. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GWAQ

      Detach the claw and remove the courtesy light assembly.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  12. REMOVE HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE ANCHOR SWITCH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the height adjustable anchor switch.

  13. REMOVE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the 4 claws to remove the seat memory switch.

  14. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GWQM

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the screw and indicator light assembly.

  15. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT BRACKET

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the indicator light bracket.

  16. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT COVER

      Remove the indicator light cover.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM COVER LH

      Remove the cushion.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 5 clips.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING END COVER REAR LH

      Detach the claw and front door belt moulding end cover rear LH.

  19. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

      Remove the 2 clips and door frame garnish LH.

  20. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

    Note

    Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 4 screws.

    3. Detach the claw and remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

  21. REMOVE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH


    1. A01GXMU

      Remove the 2 screws and front multiplex network door ECU LH.

    2. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 2 SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Remove the front door No. 2 service hole cover LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the remaining tape on the door.

  23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH


    1. A01GY51

      Remove the front door service hole cover LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the remaining tape on the door.

  24. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01H2AB

      Detach the 3 clamps.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. A01H1P3

      Remove the front door glass inner weatherstrip LH by pulling it upward in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Connect the front door ECU LH.

    2. Temporarily install the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    4. Remove the hole plug.

      Move the front window regulator sub-assembly LH so that the front door glass sub-assembly LH bolts can be seen.

    6. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

    7. Remove the 2 bolts.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolts as the glass may fall and become damaged.

      Remove the front door glass sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the glass upward.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the glass.

    9. Remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

    10. Disconnect the front door ECU LH.

  27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH


    1. Remove the front door glass run LH.

  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Remove the clip and front door weatherstrip.

      Tech Tips

      Lift up the front door No. 3 weatherstrip to remove the front door No. 2 weatherstrip, as the No. 2 weatherstrip is affixed to the inner side of the No. 3 weatherstrip.

  29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW FRONT FRAME MOULDING LH


    1. Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

    2. Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill, as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    3. Lightly press the drill against each of the 6 front door window frame moulding rivets labeled (A) and (B) shown in the illustration, and drill off each rivet's flange.

      Tech Tips


      • The rivets labeled (A) are the installation rivets of the front door window frame moulding.

      • The rivets labeled (B) are the installation rivets for both the front door window frame moulding and front door belt moulding.

      • Do not remove the front door window belt moulding's rivet labeled (C).

      Note


      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.

      • Do not pry the rivets with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivets or the drill bit.

      • Be careful of the drilled rivets as they may become hot.

    4. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.

    5. Detach the clip and remove the window frame moulding.

  30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Put a 4.5 mm (0.177 in.) drill bit into a drill.

    2. Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill, as shown in the illustration.

    3. Lightly press the drill against the rivet shown in the illustration, and drill off the rivet's flange.

      CAUTION:

      Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.

      Note


      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.

      • Do not pry the rivet with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.

    4. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled area.

      Remove the 2 screws.

    6. A01GXNS

      Loosen the 5 belt line screws indicated by the arrows in the illustration.

    7. Remove the 4 screws and front door sub-assembly LH.

  31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      *1 Temporary Bolt

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH may fall and become damaged.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts and front door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the window regulator through the service hole.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolts as the window regulator may fall and become damaged.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt from the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

  32. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH

      Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 3 screws and power window regulator motor assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.

  33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01GXRJ

      Remove the 2 bolts and front door front lower frame sub-assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the frame through the service hole.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolts as the frame may fall and become damaged.

  34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01H0FD

      Remove the 2 bolts and front door rear lower frame sub-assembly LH.

  35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH


    1. A01GYK4

      Remove the hole plug.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover LH with the door lock key cylinder installed.

    3. Remove the cylinder from the front door outside handle cover LH.

  36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.

    2. A01GZNH

      Disconnect the connector.

    3. A01GZVM

      Remove the front door outside handle assembly LH by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

      Note

      If the release plate is not pulled and held when removing the handle, the release plate will interfere with the handle and become damaged.

  37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD FRONT


    1. A01H11O

      Detach the 3 claws and remove the front door outside handle pad front.

  38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD REAR


    1. A01GYBH

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle pad rear.

  39. REMOVE NO. 2 SEPARATION DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION


    1. A01GW7K

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 separation door stiffener cushion.

  40. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01GWOIE01

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove 3 screws labeled A and the 2 screws labeled B.

    3. Remove the front door lock assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolts as the door lock may fall and become damaged.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the door lock through the service hole.

  43. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the screw and detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the outside handle frame through the service hole.

    2. A01GZFK

      Disconnect the connector and detach the 3 clamps.

    3. Remove the lock open rod from the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH.

  44. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Front Door)


    1. A01GW9O

      Remove the screw and door electrical key oscillator.

  45. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 2 STIFFENER CUSHION


    1. A01GXYE

      Remove the bolt and the front door No. 2 stiffener cushion.

  46. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME GARNISH PAD LH

      Remove the 2 bolts and front door lower frame garnish pad LH.

  47. REMOVE DOOR CHECK COVER LH


    1. A01GXAC

      Remove the door check cover LH.

  48. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts and front door check assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the door check through the service hole.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the bolts as the door check may fall and become damaged.

  49. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. A01GYF5

      Using a clip remover, detach the clips and remove the front door weatherstrip LH.

      Tech Tips

      If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.

  50. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WIRE LH


    1. A01GXQ1

      Disconnect the connector.

  51. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and front door panel sib-assembly LH.

      CAUTION:

      Be sure to perform this procedure with 2 or more persons as the part is very heavy.

  52. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 3 WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Remove the 3 clips and front door No. 3 weatherstrip LH.
