DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM Driver Side Door Closer does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The front multiplex network door ECU (for driver side) receives front door closer (for driver side) signals, and activates the front door closer motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. Check the power door lock control function Click here.

      OK
      Each function of power door lock control system operates normally using master switch.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU - FRONT DOOR CLOSER)

      for LHD:


      1. Disconnect the N9 ECU connector.

      2. Disconnect the N14 closer connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        N9-5 (A2+) - N14-1 (CLM+) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-6 (A2-) - N14-4 (CLM-) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-7 (POLE) - N14-6 (POLE) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-8 (HALF) - N14-2 (HALF) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-9 (FULL) - N14-5 (FULL) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-18 (INIT) - N14-3 (DLSE) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-19 (HNDL) - N14-7 (CLP3) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-15 (CPSE) - N14-8 (CPSE) Always Below 1 Ω
        N9-5 (A2+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        N9-6 (A2-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. for RHD:


      1. Disconnect the N2 ECU connector.

      2. Disconnect the N7 closer connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (FRONT DOOR CLOSER)

    1. for LHD:


      1. Remove the front door lock LH Click here.

      2. Set the door closer to the half-latch position.

      3. Apply battery voltage to the lock motor connector and check the closer operation.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (CLM+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (CLM-)

        Door closer operation normal

        (moves to full-latch position)

    2. for RHD:


      1. Remove the front door lock RH Click here.

      2. Set the door closer to the half-latch position.

      3. Apply battery voltage to the lock motor connector and check the closer operation.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (CLM+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (CLM-)

        Door closer operation normal

        (moves to full-latch position)

  4. CHECK FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the front multiplex network door ECU (for driver side) with a new or normally functioning one (for driver side) Click here.

    2. Check the door closer operation Click here.

      Door closer operation is normal.
