REAR SEAT CUSHION HEATER (for Ottoman) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Detach the 2 front hooks of the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly.

      Note


      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (A) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.

      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

    2. Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly LH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear seatback spring assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

  2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    2. Operate the ottoman switch to move the ottoman to the return position.

    3. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

      Put protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    5. Remove the 2 seat cushion cover hooks.

    6. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the seat cushion ottoman part.

    7. Lift the corners of the rear seat cushion assembly RH to disconnect the 2 rear seat cushion lock hooks.

      Note


      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (cushion assembly corners) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.

      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

    8. Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly RH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly RH from the rear seatback spring assembly RH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    9. Disconnect the connector.

  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 22 hog rings and rear seat cushion spring assembly LH from the rear seat cushion cover with pad LH.

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    2. Detach the 2 hooks.

    3. Remove the 19 hog rings and rear seat cushion spring assembly RH from the rear seat cushion cover with pad RH.

  5. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER LH

      Remove the 15 hog rings and separate type rear seat cushion cover LH from the rear seat cushion pad LH.

  6. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER RH


    1. Remove the 18 hog rings and detach the 2 pieces of fastening tape.

    2. Detach the 10 claws to remove the separate type rear seat cushion cover RH from the rear seat cushion pad RH.
