LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY (for Ottoman) REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

  4. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)

      Detach the 2 clips and remove the deck trim side board LH.

  5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Detach the clip, fastening tape and remove the battery service hole cover LH.

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Detach the 2 front hooks of the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly.

      Note


      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (A) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.

      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

    2. Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly LH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear seatback spring assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

  8. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    2. Operate the ottoman switch to move the ottoman to the return position.

    3. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

      Put protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    5. Remove the 2 seat cushion cover hooks.

    6. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the seat cushion ottoman part.

    7. Lift the corners of the rear seat cushion assembly RH to disconnect the 2 rear seat cushion lock hooks.

      Note


      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (cushion assembly corners) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.

      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

    8. Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly RH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly RH from the rear seatback spring assembly RH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    9. Disconnect the connector.

  9. REMOVE REAR CENTER SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (w/ Center Seat)

      Detach the front hook of the rear center seat cushion assembly from the vehicle body.

      Note

      The cushion frame deforms easily. To avoid deforming the rear center seat cushion assembly, place your hands near the hook, and then pull up on the rear center seat cushion assembly.

    2. Detach the rear hook of the rear center seat cushion assembly to remove the rear center seat cushion assembly from the center seatback frame sub-assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  10. REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER ARMREST ASSEMBLY (w/ Center Seat)


    1. Lower the rear seat center armrest assembly.

      Raise the rear center seat headrest assembly.

    3. A01H1UME04

      Detach the 2 clips.

    4. Detach the hook by lowering the rear seat armrest hole board, and remove it.

    5. A01GYO5

      Remove the 2 bolts, nut and rear seat center armrest assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    6. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

  11. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX (w/ Rear Console Box)

  12. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01GZD3

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly LH.

    2. A01H0KUE03

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the 2 caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Disconnect the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly from the shoulder belt guide.

      Remove the bolt and pull out the junction block.

    5. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      Detach the 7 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.

      Detach the 3 pieces of fastening tape and using a clip remover, detach the clip.

    8. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle.

    9. Disconnect the rear seatback assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly and lift the rear seatback assembly LH upwards to remove it.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  13. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH


    1. A01GZL5

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly RH.

    2. A01GYO9E01

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the 2 caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Remove the seat belt from the shoulder belt guide.

    4. A01GYAI

      Remove the bolt and pull out the junction block.

    5. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

    6. A01GZBZ

      Detach the 6 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.

      Remove the nut, detach the 2 claws and disconnect the air hose.

    8. Detach the 3 pieces of fastening tape and using a clip remover, detach the clip.

    9. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle.

    10. Disconnect the rear seatback assembly RH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly and lift the rear seatback assembly RH upwards to remove it.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  14. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE LH

      Remove the 3 screws and rear seat shoulder belt guide LH.

  15. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 pins and rear seat headrest assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the rear seat headrest assembly on the other side.

  16. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

      Detach the 4 claws to remove the 2 rear seat headrest supports.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the rear seat headrest support on the other side.

  17. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts.

    3. Detach the 2 claws to remove the rear No. 1 seat headrest adjuster sub-assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the rear No. 1 seat headrest adjuster sub-assembly on the other side.

  18. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and position control ECU assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the position control ECU assembly on the other side.

  19. REMOVE REAR SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH

    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and rear seat climate control ECU LH.

  20. REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the guide and remove the seat heater control sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the seat heater control sub-assembly on the other side.

  21. REMOVE REAR SEAT COVER CAP LH

      Detach the 5 claws to remove the rear seat cover cap LH.

  22. REMOVE REAR SEAT LOCK BASE LH

      Remove the 3 screws and rear seat lock base LH.

  23. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the nut and detach the seatback cover bracket.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Detach the 8 hooks and remove the 19 hog rings and rear seatback spring assembly LH (lumbar support adjuster) from the rear seatback cover with pad LH.

    1. Remove the nut and detach the seatback cover bracket.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Detach the 7 hooks and remove the 20 hog rings and rear seatback spring assembly RH (lumbar support adjuster RH) from the rear seatback cover with pad RH.
