FRONT POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • for Driver Side:

    Operate the power seat switch to move the cushion length adjustment to the foremost position.

  • for Ottoman (Front Passenger Side):

    Operate the power seat switch to move the ottoman to the foremost position.

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

  4. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)

      Detach the 2 clips and remove the deck trim side board LH.

  5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Detach the clip, fastening tape and remove the battery service hole cover LH.

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Release the rubber bands of the seatback board sub-assembly LH from the front seat adjuster assembly LH.

    2. A01GYMDE01

      Remove the 3 screws.

    3. Detach the 2 claws to remove the front seat cushion shield LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

    4. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER NO. 1 CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Driver Side)

    1. Remove the 3 screws and front seat inner No. 1 cushion shield LH.

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER NO. 1 CUSHION SHIELD RH (for Front Passenger Side)

      Remove the 3 screws and front seat inner No. 1 cushion shield RH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Detach the 6 wire harness clamps.

    3. Detach the claw and disconnect the connector.

      Remove the nut and front seat inner belt assembly LH.

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH

    2. Detach the claw to remove the front seat inner cushion shield LH.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 2 hooks.

    3. Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector to remove the front seatback board sub-assembly LH.

  14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH

      Detach the 2 claws to remove the No. 6 air duct.

    2. A01GYWF

      Remove the 3 screws and disconnect the duct of the seat climate control blower LH.

    3. A01H1M8

      Disconnect the connector.

    4. A01GYQ8

      Detach the 4 claws to disconnect the duct of the seat climate control blower LH.

    5. Disconnect the connector and detach the wire harness clamp.

    6. A01GYQ6

      Disconnect the connector and detach the wire harness clamp.

    7. A01GXIA

      Disconnect the connector and detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

      Remove the 2 clips.

      Detach the hook.

      Detach the hook and remove the 4 bolts to remove the front seat cushion assembly LH.

  15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY


    1. w/ Active Headrest, w/ Pre-crash Intelligent Headrest:

        Remove the 2 pins and front seat headrest assembly.

        Note

        w/ Active Headrest:

        When replacing a deployed active headrest inflator, always replace it together with the front seat headrest assembly.

    2. w/ Retractable Headrest:

      Pull up the front seat headrest assembly to remove it.

      Note

      As the front seat headrest assembly is tightly fitted to the seat, be careful not to damage the seat when removing the front seat headrest assembly.

  16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

    1. Detach the 4 claws to remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

  17. REMOVE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Shoulder Switch)

      Detach the 2 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the power seat switch assembly.

  18. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD


    1. A01GYQ4

      Remove the bolt to detach the front seatback cover bracket.

    2. A01H120

      Remove the 3 clips.

    3. Detach the 9 hooks to remove the seatback cover with pad from the front seat seatback frame assembly LH.

  19. REMOVE ACTIVE HEADREST INFLATOR (w/ Active Headrest)

      Disconnect the connector.

      Note

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    2. Remove the bolt and nut.

    3. Detach the guide and 2 clamps.

    4. Turn the active headrest inflator in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.

  20. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. w/ Active Headrest:

        Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.

      2. A01GX4N

        Remove the 2 bolts.

      3. Detach the 2 claws and remove the headrest adjuster.

    2. w/ Pre-crash Intelligent Headrest:


      1. A01GWPY

        Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.

      2. A01GXLG

        Detach the 4 wire harness clamps and remove the 2 bolts.

      3. Detach the 2 claws and remove the headrest adjuster.

      4. A01H1L9

        Remove the screw.

      5. Detach the guide and remove the plate.

      6. A01GXPQ

        Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the connector from the connector holder.

    3. w/ Retractable Headrest:


      1. A01H0KX

        Remove the 2 screws and headrest motor from the seatback frame.

      2. Remove the 4 bolts.

      3. Detach the 2 claws and remove the headrest adjuster.

      4. A01GYY2

        Detach the 2 claws and remove the motor.

      5. A01GZJT

        Detach the 2 claws and remove the cable.

      6. A01GZUR

        Remove the 2 screws and headrest stay cover.

  21. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK FRAME ASSEMBLY LH


    1. for Driver Side:


      1. A01GXPN

        w/ Active Headrest:

        Disconnect the 4 connectors and detach the 9 clamps.

      2. A01GZX8

        w/ Pre-crash Intelligent Headrest:

        Disconnect the 4 connectors and detach the 9 clamps.

    2. for Front Passenger Side:


      1. A01GWJC

        w/ Active Headrest:

        Disconnect the 3 connectors and detach the 9 clamps.

      2. A01GXUO

        w/ Pre-crash Intelligent Headrest:

        Disconnect the 3 connectors and detach the 9 clamps.

      3. A01GYZL

        w/ Retractable Headrest:

        Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the 7 clamps.

    3. A01H1MM

      Remove the 4 bolts and front seat seatback frame assembly LH.

  22. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH


    1. A01H1S9

      Remove the screw and reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp.

  23. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  24. REMOVE FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD

    1. Remove the 4 nuts and front seat lower cushion shield.

  25. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING

      Remove the front seat cushion spring.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the front seat cushion spring on the other side.

  26. REMOVE NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION PLATE

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 seat cushion plate.

  27. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SEAT TRAVEL LINK

    1. Remove the bolt and front No. 2 seat travel link.

  28. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT TRAVEL LINK

    Use the same procedures described for the No. 2 seat travel link.

  29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH

    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and front seat climate control ECU LH.

  30. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH

    1. Detach the 4 claws and disconnect the climate control duct.

    2. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and seat climate control blower LH.

  31. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR


    1. A01GYLPE02

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the "TORX" screw and seat position sensor with sensor protector.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. A01GYSME04

      Remove the seat slide position sensor protector from the seat position sensor.

  32. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH


    1. Remove the bolt.

    2. Disconnect the 4 connectors.

    3. Detach the 13 wire harness clamps to remove the front seat wire LH.
