FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The driver seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical, lumbar support, headrest and cushion slide adjustment functions.
The passenger seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical, headrest, and lumbar support adjustment functions.
The memory system for the driver seat is provided as standard equipment.
The memory call function uses the key ID code of the key to memorize and reproduce the appropriate driving position for each individual who possesses a master key or sub key.
FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
The following functions are available.
| Components | Function |
|---|---|
| Seat slide motor | Receives signal from front power seat switch, motor operates, and seat slides forward and rearward. |
| Seat reclining motor | Receives signal from front power seat switch, motor operates, and seat tilts and reclines. |
| Seat cushion slide motor | Receives signal from front power seat switch, motor operates, and driver side seat cushion slides. |
| Seat front vertical motor | Receives signal from front power seat switch, and seat cushion front rises and lowers vertically. |
| Seat lifter motor | Receives signal from front power seat switch, and seat cushion rises and lowers vertically. |
| Seat lumbar support motor (forward - back) | Receives signal from front power seat switch, and lumbar support moves forward and rearward. |
| Seat lumbar support motor (up - down) | Receives signal from front power seat switch, and driver side seat lumbar support moves up and down. |
| Seat headrest height motor | Receives signal from front power seat switch, and headrest rises and lowers. |
| Ottoman motor* | Receives a signal from the front power seat switch, and raises and lowers the front of the seat cushion. |
| Seat position sensor | Is built into each seat adjuster and sends position data to front power seat switch so that it can detect seat positions at all times. |
| Seat control switch | Based on switches operated, seat adjuster signals are input into position control ECU and seat is adjusted accordingly. |
| Seat memory switch | When SET switch and memory switch are pressed simultaneously, signal is input to front door ECU and seat position is recorded. Then, when memory switch is pressed, signal is input to front door ECU and seat position changes according to memory. |

SYSTEM OPERATION
The front power seat's positions which can be adjusted with power seat motors and/or memorized are shown in the chart below.
| Seat Adjustment Function | Driver | Passenger |
|---|---|---|
| Fore-and-Aft Slide | Power and memory | Power and memory |
| Reclining | Power and memory | Power and memory |
| Cushion Slide | Power and memory | - |
| Front Vertical Height | Power and memory | Power |
| Lifter | Power and memory | Power and memory |
| Lumbar Support (forward - back) and Pelvis Support | Power and memory | Power |
| Lumbar Support (up - down) | Power | - |
| Headrest Height | Power and memory | Power |
For the memory function, the memory switch operation is first transferred from the front door ECU to the front power seat switch via the CAN communication line. Then, either the seat position is recorded in memory or a previously recorded seat position is recalled.
