DESCRIPTION

When the self-diagnosis of the multi-media module receiver assembly determines that the steering control ECU of the VGRS system (connected via CAN communication) is malfunctioning, this DTC is output.

      Tech Tips


      • The DTC is stored when a malfunction occurs in the variable gear ratio steering system.

      • If troubleshooting and repair of the malfunction in the variable gear ratio steering system has been completed, DTC C1649 will not be output again when rechecking for DTCs.

      • If DTC C1649 is stored frequently, duplicate the problem symptoms and perform the inspection again even if the DTC is not output when rechecking for DTCs Click here.
