CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Standard Body)
1. Check that the power switch is off.
2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
  
  CAUTION:
  
  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
3. Temporarily install the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with 6 new bolts.
4. Tighten the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration to install the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
  
  Torque:
  
  11 N*m { 110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }
  
  Note
  
  Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly LH when installing it.
5. Install 4 new clips and then push in the 4 pins.
6. Push in the lock to connect the airbag connector.
7. Connect the connector.
  
  Note
  
  When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Long Body)
1. Check that the power switch is off.
2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
  
  CAUTION:
  
  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
3. Temporarily install the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with 6 new bolts.
4. Tighten the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration to install the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
  
  Torque:
  
  11 N*m { 110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }
  
  Note
  
  Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly LH when installing it.
5. Install 4 new clips and then push in the 4 pins.
6. Push in the lock to connect the airbag connector.
7. Connect the connector.
  
  Note
  
  When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

CONNECT CABLE TO AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

  Attach the battery service hole cover LH with the clip and fastening tape.
INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)
1. Attach the 2 clips to install the deck trim side board LH.
INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)
INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)
