AIRBAG SYSTEM SRS Warning Light does not Come ON

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY


    1. Turn the power switch OFF.

    2. Measure the voltage of the auxiliary battery.

      Standard voltage
      11 to 14 V

    NG

    REPLACE OR RECHARGE AUXILIARY BATTERY

    OK

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR


    1. Turn the power switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the auxiliary battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Check that the connector is properly connected to the No. 1 meter ECU sub-assembly.

      OK
      The connector is properly connected.

    NG

    CONNECT CONNECTOR PROPERLY

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SOURCE VOLTAGE OF NO. 1 METER ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Turn the power switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the auxiliary battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Disconnect the L124 connector from the No. 1 meter ECU sub-assembly.

    4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the auxiliary battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    5. Turn the power switch ON (IG).

    6. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L124-14 (IG2) - L124-17 (E2) Power switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V

    7. Turn the power switch OFF.

    8. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L124-17 (E2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  4. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT


    1. Turn the power switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the auxiliary battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Connect the connector to the No. 1 meter ECU sub-assembly.

    4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the auxiliary battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    5. Turn the power switch ON (IG).

    6. Check the SRS warning light condition.

      Note

      Make sure that nobody is in the vehicle.

      OK
      After the primary check period, the SRS warning light goes off for approximately 10 seconds and then remains on.

      Tech Tips

      The primary check period is approximately 6 seconds after the power switch is turned ON (IG).
