STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RHD and LHD.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LHD.


  1. INSTALL STEERING SHAKE DAMPER


    1. Install the shake damper with the 2 screws.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)


    1. Attach the 4 claws and install the 2 transmission shift switch assemblies to the steering wheel boss lower cover.

  3. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Heater)


    1. Install the heater control assembly with the 2 screws and connect the connector clamp.

  4. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER LOWER


    1. w/o Shift Paddle Switch:

      Attach the 2 guide pins, 2 claws and 2 screws to install the steering wheel lower cover.

    2. w/ Shift Paddle Switch:

      Attach the 2 claws and a new 4 screws to install the steering wheel lower cover.

  5. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE

  6. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Connect the connector and install the cruise control main switch assembly.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  7. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the steering pad switch with the 4 screws and connect the 6 guide pins.

    2. Connect the connector clamp.

  8. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft assembly.

    2. Connect the connectors.

    3. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Torque:
      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }

  9. INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY

  10. CONNECT CABLE TO AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  11. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Attach the battery service hole cover LH with the clip and fastening tape.

  12. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)


    1. A01GXQQ

      Attach the 2 clips to install the deck trim side board LH.

  13. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

  14. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  15. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
