STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedures for the RHD and LHD.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LHD.


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

  3. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)


    1. A01GXQQ

      Detach the 2 clips and remove the deck trim side board LH.

  4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Detach the clip, fastening tape and remove the battery service hole cover LH.

  5. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. REMOVE STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

      Remove the steering wheel set nut.

    2. Put matchmarks on the steering wheel and main shaft.

    3. Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

  9. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connector clamp.

    2. A01GZ26

      Remove the 4 screws.

    3. Detach the 6 guides remove the steering pad switch assembly.

  10. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. A01H280

      Disconnect the connector and remove the cruise control main switch assembly.

  11. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE

  12. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER LOWER

      w/o Shift Paddle Switch:

      Remove the 2 screws, 2 guide pins and 2 claws of the steering wheel boss lower cover.

    2. A01GZFL

      w/ Shift Paddle Switch:

      Remove the 4 screws and 2 claws of the steering wheel boss lower cover.

  13. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Heater)

      Disconnect the connector clamp and remove the 2 screws and heater control assembly.

  14. REMOVE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

      Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 transmission shift switch assemblies from the steering wheel boss lower cover.

  15. REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER


    1. A01GW7C

      Remove the 2 screws and steering shake damper.
