ACTIVE STABILIZER SUSPENSION SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C190C, C190D

DTC Code DTC Name
C190C Rear Metal Board Overheat
C190D Rear Control Board Overheat

DESCRIPTION

If overheating of the rear active stabilizer control ECU's metal board or control board is detected, control is stopped to prevent abnormal overheating, and DTC C190C and/or C190D are output. The metal board and control board have temperature sensors for detecting overheating. If the temperature returns to normal, the system returns to normal operation.

DTC Code Detection Condition Trouble Area
C190C Temperature of rear active stabilizer control ECU metal board is more than 135°C (275°F)
  • Overheating in area around rear active stabilizer control ECU

  • Rear active stabilizer control ECU

C190D Temperature of rear active stabilizer control ECU control board is more than 135°C (275°F)
  • Overheating in area around rear active stabilizer control ECU

  • Rear active stabilizer control ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY

    1. Turn the power switch OFF and wait 30 minutes or more.

    2. Check if "Check Active Stabilizer Suspension System" is still displayed on the multi-information display.

      Tech Tips

30 minutes is the approximate amount of time that is required for the rear active stabilizer control ECU to cool down sufficiently.

  2. INSPECT SURROUNDING CONDITIONS (AMBIENT TEMPERATURE)

    1. Check the temperature around the rear active stabilizer control ECU.

      Tech Tips

If there are factors causing a high temperature in the rear active stabilizer control ECU, eliminate those factors, wait for the ECU to cool down, and recheck for the DTC.

  3. INTERCHANGE FRONT AND REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

    1. Turn the power switch OFF.

    2. Interchange the rear active stabilizer control ECU with the front active stabilizer control ECU, and install them securely.

      Tech Tips

      • Interchange the front and rear active stabilizer control ECUs and check for DTCs. After interchanging the ECUs, if a front stabilizer DTC is displayed, it can be determined that the rear active stabilizer control ECU is malfunctioning.

      • For the ECU removal and installation procedures, refer to the front ECU procedures Click here or the rear ECU procedures Click here.
