REPLACE HYBRID TRANSMISSION FLUID
Lift the vehicle. [*1]
Note
Set the vehicle on a lift so that the vehicle is kept level when it is lifted up (make sure that the tilt angle from the front to rear of the vehicle is within +/-1°).
w/ Cover:
Remove the front center floor cover.
Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the ATF. [*2]
Temporarily install the gasket and drain plug. [*3]
Tech Tips
Reuse the old gasket. A new gasket will be installed in step [*13].
Remove the overflow plug. [*4]
Disconnect the oil cooler hose. [*5]
Note
Do not touch any high temperature parts, such as the exhaust pipe.
Tech Tips
Cover the pipe that the oil cooler hose connects to with a plastic bag or tape to prevent fluid from dripping.
Add fluid to the disconnected oil cooler hose until fluid comes out of the overflow tube. [*6]
Note
Use Toyota Genuine ATF WS.
Temporarily install the gasket and overflow plug. [*7]
Tech Tips
Reuse the old gasket. The plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.
Add 1.1 liters (1.2 US qts, 1.0 Imp qts.) of ATF to the disconnected oil cooler hose. [*8]
Connect the oil cooler hose. [*9]
Lower the vehicle. [*10]
Turn the power switch on (READY) wait for 30 seconds. [*11]
Turn the power switch off. [*12]
Repeat steps [*1] to [*12].
Repeat steps [*1] to [*2].
Install a new gasket and the drain plug. [*13]
Repeat steps [*4] to [*10].
Adjust the fluid level Click here.
w/ Cover:
Lift the vehicle up and install the front center floor cover.
Lower the vehicle.
Operation complete.
