Tech Tips

After confirming that DTC P0A38-257 or P0A39-259 is output, use the intelligent tester to check "Motor Temp No2" in the HV ECU data list.

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)


    1. A01GW3PE01

      Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

      OK
      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (MOTOR2 TEMP)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Motor Temp No2.

    4. Read the data list.

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (CHECK FOR OPEN)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the generator temperature sensor connector.

      Connect terminals 4 (GMT) and 8 (GMTG) of vehicle side connector E62 of the generator temperature sensor.

    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    5. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Motor Temp No2.

    6. Read the data list.

    1. Turn the power switch off.

      Connect terminals 25 (GMT) and 24 (GMTG) of connector E58 of the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    4. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Motor Temp No2.

    5. Read the data list.

    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect connector E58 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
