DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU receives switch signals from the door control switch and activates the door lock motor on each door according to these signals.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH)


    1. Use the Data List to check if the door lock and unlock switches are functioning properly.

      Passenger Door (Front door ECU RH*1) (Front door ECU LH*2)

      ON: Front passenger side door control switch is ON (LOCK)

      OFF: Front passenger side door control switch is OFF

  2. CHECK FRONT DOOR ECU (OPERATION) (for Front Passenger Side)


    1. Replace the front door ECU (for passenger side) with a normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check that all doors can be locked and unlocked by using the door control switch.

  3. INSPECT DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH)

    1. Remove the door control switch Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2 (L) - 3 (E) Lock Below 1 Ω
      4 (UL) - 3 (E) Unlock Below 1 Ω
      2 (L) - 3 (E) Unlock 10 kΩ or higher
      4 (UL) - 3 (E) Lock 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR ECU - DOOR CONTROL SWITCH)

    1. Disconnect the P4 or P10 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the N5 or N16 switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      for LHD

      P4-11 (PML) - N5-2 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
      P4-20 (DLE) - N5-3 (E) Always Below 1 Ω
      P4-12 (PMUL) - N5-4 (UL) Always Below 1 Ω
      N5-2 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N5-3 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N5-4 (UL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD
