FRONT WIPER MOTOR REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for LHD and RHD vehicle.

  • The procedure listed below are for LHD vehicle.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

  4. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)


    1. A01GXQQ

      Detach the 2 clips and remove the deck trim side board LH.

  5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      *1 Fastening Tape

      Detach the clip, fastening tape and remove the battery service hole cover LH.

  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM LH


    1. Remove the nut, wiper arm and blade.

  8. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM RH


    1. Remove the nut, wiper arm and blade.

  9. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH

      for LHD:

      Remove the 5 clips and engine room side cover LH.

    2. A01GXEIE01

      for RHD:

      Remove the 5 clips and engine room side cover LH.

      Note

      Remove the clip labeled A by turning it to prevent the engine room side cover LH and bracket from being damaged.

      Tech Tips

      The clip labeled A cannot be removed from the engine room side cover LH.

  10. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH

      for LHD:

      Remove the 5 clips and engine room side cover RH.

      Note

      Remove the clip labeled A by turning it to prevent the engine room side cover RH and bracket from being damaged.

      Tech Tips

      The clip labeled A cannot be removed from the engine room side cover RH.

      for RHD:

      Remove the 5 clips and engine room side cover RH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH

      Using a clip remover, detach the 3 clips and remove the upper fender protector.

  12. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  13. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

      Using a clip remover, detach the 11 clips and remove the hood to cowl top seal.

  14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH


    1. A01H0KV

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.

  15. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH

      Detach the clip and claw, and then remove the cowl side seal LH.

  16. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER PROTECTOR LH


    1. Detach the clip and claw.

      Detach the guide and remove the cowl top ventilator louver protector LH.

  18. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GZWYE01

      Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips.

    2. Detach the 9 claws.

    3. Remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.

  19. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connector. Then detach the clamp and remove the wire harness from the cowl top panel.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and the wiper motor and link.

      Tech Tips

      The 3 bolts labeled A in the illustration cannot be removed from the wiper link because they are integrated into the wiper motor and link.

  20. REMOVE WIPER MOTOR COVER


    1. Remove the wiper motor cover.

  21. REMOVE FRONT WIPER CRANK SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a screwdriver, disconnect the rod of the wiper link from the front wiper crank sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. A01H00W

      Remove the nut and front wiper crank sub-assembly.

  22. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and windshield wiper motor assembly.
