WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM Headlight Cleaner Motor and Relay Circuit

DESCRIPTION

This circuit provides power to the headlight cleaner control relay.

The headlight cleaner control relay sends the signal from the switch, etc. to the headlight cleaner motor to operate the headlight cleaner system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Inspect the fuses and relays for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. A01GY92E05

      Disconnect the A6 headlight cleaner control relay connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A6-3 (IG) - Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A6-3 (IG) - Body ground Power switch OFF Below 1 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A6-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR


    1. A01H0B7

      Remove the headlight cleaner motor Click here.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the headlight cleaner motor and check the operation of the headlight cleaner motor.

      OK
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1

      Headlight cleaner motor operation is normal

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR - HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY AND BATTERY)


    1. A01H25CE02

      Disconnect the A92 headlight cleaner motor connector.

    2. Disconnect the A6 headlight cleaner control relay connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A92-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A92-1 - A6-6 (PB) Always Below 1 Ω
      A92-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
